books for looks
been catching up n my reading recently and its been great! bought and read Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman and ohman it ROCKS like totally man. i know the blurb looks really gross and with its yucksy neon words and big ugly pic of the author looking like a stringy hippie-thing and that totally put me off the book at first, but after reading american gods and stardust (and loving them) and hearing pple keep telling me tt neverwhere is the best of his books, i just had to go and get it.... and OHMYGOSH neil gaiman totally needs a new publisher cos the book is 10 million times better than the cover suggests. yeah everyone who can read (tho if u cant read u wun be reading this... AHA im smart) pls go and grab a copy and read it!
after finishing neverwhere, donald passed me Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card and i havent finished it yet (almost done tho) but so far its been really good! actually when i read the first page and realised that its a sci fi novel, i almost stopped reading it cos the last time i tried reading a sci fi novel (battletech.... pls dont ever go there) i got a headache and couldnt finish a chapter. but since dons say until so nice and i had nothing else to read, i decided to see it through and i was pleasantly surprised to say its been really good! the best sci fi novel i have ever read, by FAR (considering ive only read two and the other was the rather abysmal battletech vitriol my brother reads)
so yeah, if your bored or in need of entertainment, or if you have bad/detiorating/talkingcock.com inspired english (thats YOU) and want to improve it by reading, pick up one of these novels today! hahaha. i shld be an advertiser :p
ok so anyway a discovery i made today : girls are really qt boring (some). and tho i am a feminist and all that, to give credit where its due, i have to admit that guys are much more entertaining in terms of conversation. not trying to critisize anyone here cos im a girl too! (hurrah) but yeah. just a sad fact of life. guys are talented at conversation, girls, at being nice. thats just how it is. and strange but true: nice guys are not very interesting either. good thing there arent that many around then, cant have people shaking the female hold on niceness now, can we?
